A love letter to the studio that changed everything, the community that made it possible, and the beautiful season still to come.
There are seasons in life that ask us to hold gratitude and grief in the same hand.
This is one of them.
On August 31, we'll lovingly close the doors to our studio at 4471 Nicole Drive. For some, it may simply look like a business moving locations. But for those of us who have walked this journey together, we know it has always been so much more than that.
Nicole Drive was never supposed to become what it became.
It began as a simple fulfillment space; a place to blend tea, pack orders, and dream a little bigger. There were unfinished walls, no front door, and no blueprint for what would happen next. Then something beautiful unfolded.
A room meant for shipping became a room for gathering. Tea became ritual. Strangers became friends. Conversations became healing. The Slow Pour was born. We laughed together, cried together, celebrated milestones together, and learned that sometimes the most radical thing we can do is simply pause.
Together, we built something I could have never imagined. The House That Pause Built.
If you've ever walked through our doors, attended a Slow Pour, blended your own tea, celebrated with us, or simply found a quiet moment through a cup of tea at home, you are part of that story.
Thank you.
Thank you for believing in this little idea before it had walls, before it had a name people recognized, before I knew exactly what it would become.
The truth is, Adjourn has never lived inside a building.
It lives in every ritual we've practiced, every cup we've shared, every conversation we've witnessed, and every person who has chosen to pause with us.
That's why, while we're saying goodbye to Nicole Drive, we are not saying goodbye to Adjourn. We're simply shapeshifting.
We'll continue crafting tea, shipping nationwide, traveling for pop-ups, hosting Slow Pours, creating new rituals, and finding new ways to gather. The address is changing, but the work continues.
Over these final two months, we've chosen celebration over sadness.
We're opening our doors one last season for tea, music, creativity, sound, storytelling, and community. Every event is an opportunity to honor what this space has meant while blessing what comes next. Whether you've been with us since day one or have been waiting for the right moment to visit, we'd love to welcome you into The House That Pause Built one more time.
You'll also notice something new throughout this season: Pour It Forward.
For years, Adjourn has poured into this community through tea, ritual, and intentional pause. As we prepare for what's next, Pour It Forward is our invitation for anyone who has ever been nourished by this work to help carry it beyond these walls.
There are many ways to pour it forward.
- Attend an event
- Share our story
- Shop tea
- Pour it forward
If you're able, consider making a contribution to help us build the next chapter. Every act of generosity, no matter its size, helps ensure that this work continues for years to come.
I don't know exactly what the next home for Adjourn will look like.
But I do know this:
- It will be built with the same intention that built this one.
- It will be rooted in pause.
- It will be filled with tea.
- It will be shaped by community.
And, if this journey has taught me anything, it's that some of the most beautiful chapters begin when we have the courage to release the one we're standing in.
Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for helping nurture The House That Pause Built.
Now, let's pour into what's next. With love and endless gratitude,
xoLaTonia Cokely
